Many bedrooms including what they call a "master" bedroom, is not really that big, or so it seems once you get all your furniture into the room. At times it seems like you barely have room to walk around. There are many different ways that you can make your smaller bedroom look larger. One of the most important things to remember is that you cannot have any clutter lying around because that only makes it seem smaller. You need to make sure that there is no clutter on your bed or on top of any of the furniture in the room.
The first step that you want to take in making your bedroom look larger is to get rid of the television, especially if it is one of the old fashion types. To help give you more floor space, you can mount a thin LCD or LED television to the wall if you absolutely have to have a television in the bedroom.
The next thing to take into consideration is your bed. It should be no higher than your knees and you should only use a headboard, but not the footboard. Since this is going to take most of the space in your room, always make sure that it is made and has no more than five pillows on the surface of the bed.
To make it appear larger, when you paint the walls make sure that you use colors like pastel, natural, or nude colors and the ceiling should be a shade lighter than what you decide to paint the walls. You can also take part of the wall space and add a mirror to give the room the illusion of being bigger.
You should also make sure that the flooring in your bedroom is wooden and that the floor boards are light in color and the boards are wide. This type of flooring will make your bedroom look bugger. Do not have too many lamps sitting around and if possible use just the ceiling light with a dimmer switch. Trying these hints will help make a smaller bedroom look larger.
